Selling on the cloud

Your product runs on the cloud. Make the cloud sell it.

AWS, Microsoft and Google run marketplaces and sales teams that bring partner products to their customers. A health software company, a manufacturer with a connected product or a fintech can use them as well as any IT firm, once it knows how they work. I spent six years in AWS partner marketing. I'll get you listed, known and sold.

Who it's for

Any industry, one condition: your product runs on a cloud.

  • Software companies in health, finance, retail, manufacturing, energy or education.
  • Companies with a connected product: devices, sensors, data platforms.
  • Suppliers to government and regulated buyers who need data kept in Canada.
  • Companies already listed in a cloud marketplace that sell nothing through it.
Why it matters

Your buyers already have a budget with their cloud.

  • Big buyers often commit to spend with their cloud provider, and marketplace purchases can count against that commitment. You stop being a new vendor to approve.
  • Cloud sellers get rewarded for selling partner products. AWS, for example, gives its account managers incentives to co-sell software through Marketplace private offers.
  • Cloud marketplaces sold USD 30B of third-party software in 2024. Omdia forecasts USD 163B by 2030, with partners on nearly 60% of it.
  • A Canadian catch: AWS Marketplace doesn't accept Canada as a seller country for paid listings. You sell through a US entity or US banking. Plan it before you launch, not after.
The work

My four steps, with the cloud as your channel.

  1. I get the assumption

Which cloud your buyers use, what they already buy there, and the first deal that would prove it works.

  2. I build the plan

The partner path that fits you, your listing, the message cloud sellers will repeat, the funding you can ask for, and the launch.

  3. I review

With your team, and with the cloud's partner team when you have one.

  4. I execute

Listing live, first campaign out, first co-sell opportunity registered, and every lead followed to a decision.

You'll know it worked when your first deal comes through a marketplace or a cloud seller.

What I don't do
Build your product or pass its technical reviews. If you need that first, I'll introduce you to a technical partner who does.
Step one

Start with where you stand.

A review of your cloud presence today: where you're listed, who knows you at the cloud, and what to fix first. I read it myself and reply within two business days.
