Where the plan lives
At Advanced and Premier, AWS requires a Partner Business Plan.1 Since November 18, 2024, you build it in Partner Central with your AWS partner team: they start the plan and share a draft, and you find it under My company, then Business plan. It uses standard templates, sets goals and tracks progress against them.2
At Select, nothing is required. Write one anyway. It is what you bring to your first meeting with an AWS partner manager.
The template
Fill in each part in a sentence or two. If a part takes a page, it isn't decided yet.
- Positioning. Who you help on AWS, the problem you solve and the result, in one sentence.
- Goals for the year. Launched opportunities in ACE, pipeline value and the tier you are aiming for.
- Focus solutions. The Partner Central solutions or Marketplace listings your campaigns sell.
- Target accounts. The segments, industries or named accounts, and the AWS sellers who cover them.
- Campaigns by quarter. For each: audience, channel, owner, budget and the funding request behind it.
- Events. The AWS events you attend, sponsor or host, and the follow-up for each.
- Asks of AWS. Funding, seller introductions, a co-branded case study or an APN Blog post.
- Measures. What you report to AWS, from which system, and when.
Measures AWS already tracks
Use the numbers AWS uses, so nobody argues about the count.
- Launched opportunities and MRR in ACE. The same numbers decide your tier.1
- Attributed revenue. Since April 23, 2026, a monthly dashboard by product, AWS service and billing period. You need Partner Revenue Measurement and Partner Central in the console.3
- Campaign results. The Marketing analytics dashboard in Partner Central, by campaign, region, segment and industry.4
Brand rules before you publish
You can't use the AWS logo without a license or AWS's written permission. You can show the partner badges you qualify for, unchanged. AWS can ask to see samples.5
The approved brand treatments are on AWS's partner branding page, and the full creative guide is in Partner Central.6 Check both before a campaign goes live, not after.
Dates to plan around
MDF claims close on December 15 each year, and MDF never crosses into the next year.7 Put your biggest funded campaigns before November. The AWS partner calendar lists the other dates.
